He reflects on his own education in Gaza and how Israel’s illegal occupation, oppressive colonial policies, blockade of the territory, and now relentless bombardment have affected the education system.

    If revived, the PLO would need to fund and oversee Palestinian education to minimize division and promote liberation. It should empower unions and departments to ensure quality education reflecting Palestinian identity. Revitalizing student and teacher unions can foster inclusive initiatives. Standardized curricula across locations of Palestinian residence can promote unity despite unique experiences. However, political obstacles like donor influence and refugee host regimes may hinder Palestinian curricula. Overall, PLO revival offers opportunities to improve education, infrastructure, and content for Palestinians, but challenges remain.
